TRADITIONAL MEDIA

Although I mostly work in digital, IB Art has pushed me in terms of traditional mediums. I've worked with gouache, acrylic, and most recently, oil paints. I've also dabbled in sculpture (clay & wax molding), printing, and inks -- which I learned for my 8-page inked comic in the summer of 2023 for the School of Visual Arts.

PAINTINGS, SCULPTURES, LINOCUTS, ETC.

ANIMATION / STOP-MOTION

WechatIMG20.jpg

We'll Never Be Kids Again is my only venture into animation so far, but I hope to make more soon.

Made from videos taken with a hometown friend in our old playground, all 180+ frames were printed out, cut out, and colored with oil pastels, POSCAs, and acrylic paint--then photographed and compiled again to make this 40-second looping animation.

IF BIRDS COULD FLY - ORIGINAL COMIC

For my full-ride scholarship to the 2023 SVA Summer Precollege program in NYC, I chose to take their traditional Comics class, which included composition, layout, storytelling, anatomy, inking technique, lettering, and more in just 3 weeks.

All of If Birds Could Fly's layouts, inking, and story done by me. Special thanks to all of my instructors, who were amazing at teaching us techniques in such little time while also keeping us motivated!
